Description

This course explores how gender relations shape, and are shaped by, social policies. Course material will bring comparative and historical approaches to examine the relationships between social policies and gender over time, across space, and in the context of different social, economic, cultural, and political systems. We will also draw on critical, feminist, anti-racist, and anti-colonial perspectives to study interactions between policies, gender, race, ethnicity, class, nationality and age, and to imagine transformative actions to bring policy change and to promote gender equality.
