Description

The purpose of this course is to introduce you to counseling children and their particular way of communicating about the world and how they experience it through their play. This course will introduce students to theoretical and practical approaches to child counseling. An emphasis on a multidimensional view of intervention with children with emphasis on developmental, cognitive, behavioral, affective family, educational and environmental issues. In this course you will also be asked to apply the theories of children counseling to yourself and to connect to your “inner child” in order to effectively deal with countertransference in the treatment of children.
