This course introduces students to some major urban theorists and urban planning movements and will dissect and discuss how planning interventions and urban design have shaped urban areas. The course studies the political, cultural and economic transformation of urban environments and asks what roles the public, private, and non-profit sectors have and might play in shaping urban environments.
