Description

This is an introductory digital photography class with no prerequisites. Students will embark on the study of all forms of street photography during field trips, exploringopportunities to shoot and study outside the classroom, while attempting to further the art of photographing our city, including its people and the built environment.Location photography with the instructor's guidance as well as gallery and museum visits will form a large portion of class-time activities.In this assignment-driven course, students will be provided with themes and prompts to follow while exploring a wide variety of subjects and image making approaches. In on-campus class meetings image lectures, group discussions and critiques, as well as hands-on technical instruction will support the course's field activities. A digital camera with manual exposure controls is required. Students will be allowed travel time, but must be willing to meet off-campus frequently.
