Topics will include the concept and definition of threat, alliances, deterrence, nuclear proliferation, terrorism, and failed states. We will also explore alternative conceptions of security such as human security, environmental degradation, and threats by non-state actors. Emerging topics such as cyber-warfare, drones, and non-state actors may also be discussed.
