Introduction to the neurobiological actions of drugs of abuse

IIn this undergraduate core course on abused drugs the emphasis is on a broad acquaintance with neuronal brain systems involved in the actions of drugs of abuse. The course will discuss the neurobiological and pharmacological basis for the actions of the major categories of these drugs. The course will define addiction and other terms used to describe the consequences on the nervous system that mediates the actions of abused drugs.
