Course Title

Women And Work

Description

This course examines the impact of women workers on contemporary U.S. society and the role of work in women's lives. Women are most unlike male workers because they have two work sites: in the paid labor force and in the household. This course focuses on the intersection, conflicts, and tensions within as well as those between these work sites. The primary goal of the course is to provide students with the ability to understand the social, economic, and historical contexts of their lives as workers.
