Introduction to Arabic I
Catalog Description
An introductory course in modern standard Arabic (contemporary classical Arabic). Emphasis is on pronunciation of basic everyday vocabulary and simple grammar through conversation and drills based on a situational approach. The reading and writing practice of Arabic script is introduced. Videos are shown to familiarize the students with the language speakers and their culture. 4 hr./wk. plus 1 hr. at the Language Media Center
