Intro To Woodcut

This course will explore the fundamentals of woodblock printing. Projects presented in class will introduce students to a wide range of woodblock printing techniques: chiaroscuro, reduction printing, and multicolor printing. Woodblock printing will be discussed in relation to the history of printmaking and its relevance in contemporary art making practices. Students will examine the interrelated nature of form, process, expression, and meaning.
