The main goal of this course is to explore humans’ experiences and behaviors in the context of close connections related to love, dating, and committed relationships. Why do we form intimate relationships? What makes them thrive or deteriorate? And what changes intimate relationships? We cover theories and empirical research to answer these and other questions. The course provides basic background for people who are interested in becoming a couple therapist or relationship scientist.
