Description

The main goal of this course is to introduce you to different theories, research, and concepts in Queer Psychology. This is a broad introduction that gives you the lay of the land in this field. In this class, we will be exploring the terms associated with SOGIE topics, Sexual Orientation, Gender, Identity, and Expression. Throughout this course, we will take a deep dive into the history of LGBTIQ Psychology, and why it is important to study today. Lastly, we will also be taking a dive into current research associated with LGBTIQ people in regards to research methods, children and parenting, prejudice, discrimination, and mental health, sexual health, chronic illness, and lastly particular challenges this community faces through a psychological lens.
