By the end of this semester, you should have a deep understanding of the roles and responsibilities of school psychologists (e.g., assessment, consultation, counseling, intervention, applied research), the history/origins of the field, training and credentialing matters (e.g., certification, licensing), legal requirements and ethical issues germane to the practice of school psychology, as well as other relevant topics within the profession (e.g., common child/adolescent mental health conditions and their presentation in schools, learning disabilities, special education eligibility, bullying).
